Despite the fact that this is a commonly repeated phrase, many of us still have yet to fully embrace the concept.
If you’re not taking risks, you’re probably playing it safe. Playing it safe gets you nowhere and instead keeps you in the same place you’ve always been in.
It’s quite ironic that the people who complain the most about how they aren’t where they want to be in life or don’t have the things they’d like to have are also the ones who do nothing to challenge themselves. They’d rather feel “secure” and “comfortable”, even though the security they claim to feel is false and is actually a huge factor in why they lack whatever it is they long for.
You can vent all day long about how underpaid and overworked you are..how all of these millionaires and billionaires are selfish and should be forced to give up a large portion of their wealth. At the end of the day, where does this get you? Yes, there are plenty of people who were born into wealthy families, but does that mean they don’t have the right to enjoy what their parents or grandparents had earned to create this generational wealth?
What about those who have busted their asses, day and night building businesses and fighting through the struggle to acquire their riches? Is it their fault that you decided to take the path of the average, which ultimately leads to an average life? Unless you’re taking the necessary risks, there is no room for you to complain and be bitter about what someone else has. Why are you so caught up in the life someone other than yourself is living to begin with?
You need to sit yourself down and decide whether or not this so-called comfort you have is truly worth it. Staying comfortable is the easy way out right now, but in the long run you see and feel how hard it really is.
Yes, taking that leap off the ledge and going all in on your dreams is a lot more difficult than these motivational pages on Instagram and Facebook makes it seem, but the reward can hardly be overlooked.
Not taking risks is the only strategy guaranteed to fail. So, what are you going to do differently today?
