How do you respond when things don’t go the way you planned?
What if I told you that little to nothing you plan for will ever go how you think it will?
No, I’m not a pessimist – it’s just reality.
In the beginning stages of my journey as an entrepreneur, I used to always get completely down on myself when this would happen.
This is pretty much how it would go:
Okay, everything is going very well..this is amazing..I’m going to close this deal..this is going to happen..can you believe how easy this is?
What the hell is this? How could this go wrong? Are you serious? WHY ISN’T IT WORKING!?
The simplest way to put it is that as soon as you think things are going extremely well, some major setback occurs that throws everything to hell and it feels like your entire business has been derailed.
The crazy thing: it hasn’t been!
One thing I keep in mind as I deal with the B.S. of this entrepreneurial life I chose is that there is only one thing that can happen to us that we, as humans, can’t recover from: death.
I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve experienced something that I thought was the last thing I could put up with.
Yeah, I’ll admit it, I’ve been seconds away from calling it quits in the past.
The important thing is that I didn’t.
I never gave up, but instead stared directly back at whatever problem I was facing.
It’s the furthest thing from easy, but you have to keep pushing through and stay engaged in whatever target you have set.
What you’ll find is that there are diamonds in the rough.
It’s rather cliche, I know, but the fact of the matter is that it’s 100% true.
The question is – will you keep digging?
